kkeung is a neighborhood social community app for people who love dogs. It’s named after the way dogs sniff (‘kkeung’) to greet each other. Record your pup’s daily life, connect with dog friends nearby, and show them off. Even without a dog, you can join as a ‘fan’.
What does ‘kkeung’ mean? +
It’s both the name — from the way dogs sniff to say hello — and how you become friends inside kkeung. Unlike Instagram’s follow/follower, a ‘kkeung’ only connects when both sides reach out, making it a mutual one-to-one bond. Once you’re kkeung friends, you can send each other DMs.
How do I get started? +
Just sign in with your Google or Apple account (or Kakao in Korea). No separate sign-up — one login is all it takes. Create your pup’s profile, post your first photo, and your kkeung begins.
Can I use it without a dog? +
Yes! You can join as a ‘fan’. Adore and cheer on the dogs you love, and connect with dogs nearby. Whether a small apartment, allergies, or a busy life keeps you from having one, or you simply love dogs — everyone’s welcome.
Can I use it for pets other than dogs? +
kkeung is a space for dogs. It’s built around the love of dogs, so for now we’re focused on pups. We’ll save the other pet friends for another day.
Who can see my posts? +
Your posts can be seen by other users within kkeung, since it’s a space to share with dog friends nearby. If someone or something bothers you, you can block or report them — once blocked, that person can no longer see your posts.
Is it okay to post freely? +
Of course. There are no negative reactions, and numbers like fan counts are never shown. Anyone can post with ease — protecting a warm culture where everyone cheers each other on is what kkeung values most.
How is it different from Instagram? +
kkeung is a dog-centered neighborhood community. Dog friends form within your local area, everyone cheers each other on, and every dog gets to be the star. When you click, you connect as ‘kkeung’ friends — another thing that sets it apart.
Can I use it with multiple dogs? +
Yes, you can add all your dogs to one account and keep a separate profile and diary for each. You can also invite family to record together.
Are my photos and data stored safely? +
Yes, they’re kept safe. Your photos and notes are stored on secure servers (Supabase) in Seoul, and all transfers are encrypted. If you delete your account or content, the related photos and data are removed right away. They’re your pup’s memories, so we protect them with care.
Is it free to use? +
Yes, all core features are free.
